Sudarshan has a strong passion for healthcare and the education sector. Currently, he is the Secretary-General of the Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance (www.ipa-india.org), Senior Advisor - Apax Partners and Board member of multiple organizations. He has served in several leadership positions for over 40 years in Healthcare industry (Lupin, Johnson & Johnson, Piramal, Abbott) and was formerly the Managing Director at Abbott Healthcare Solutions. His current Board engagements include Abbott India, Healthium Limited (Apax portfolio company), Zandu Chemicals Limited, Indian Education Society (IES), Advisory Board of Narsee Monjee University, Mumbai (NMIMS). He is the Visiting Faculty at Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad. He has contributed in shaping the healthcare policy and improving access to healthcare in India.

Played key role in establishing PHARMEXCIL in 2004 as founder Executive Director and later as its first Director General. Presently chairman of a mid-level pharma company and trading company. Technical advisor to some Indian Pharma companies and Board member of some other reputed companies.

Mr. Mahesh H Doshi is the Managing Director & Partner of Dy-Mach Pharma having two units in Maharashtra & Gujarat manufacturing APIs. He is also the Managing Director of Avesta Pharma, a US FDA Approved Plant. Mr. Mahesh H Doshi is the National President of IDMA and has been an esteemed Member of the IDMA Executive Committee for over three decades. Prior to being elected as the National President, he has been an Office Bearer of IDMA for many years and has held all the important positions such as Vice President, Hon. General Secretary, Treasurer, etc.

Sanjaya de Silva Jayaratne was educated at Royal College, Colombo 7 and went on to complete his tertiary studies at James Madison University in Virginia, U.S.A. with a Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA). Having commenced his career in the Pharmaceutical and Healthcare industry and equipped with a long standing 17 years’ of experience across the healthcare domain; Sanjaya’s one aspiration was to contribute towards growing and developing this industry, which holds tremendous prospects for local manufacturing. Sanjaya is currently pursuing his dream as the founder of Navesta Pharmaceuticals (Pvt) Ltd, Sri Lanka’s first sterile injectable plant and the first European Union Good Manufacturing Practices (EU GMP) compliant plant in the country.

H.E. Dr. Lohitha Samarawickrema was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka and speak 3 languages. (Sinhala, English and Russian). He is a prominent alumnae of Prestigeous Royal College of Colombo. He studied at the the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Colombo in Sri Lanka and Kiev State Medical University in Ukraine. During his stay in Ukraine he also did part of his studies at St.Mary’s University in London and later specialized in Rheumatology and gained wealth of experience in London.

Ltd., at Murbad.

Dr Anil Chauhan earned his Ph. D. in Genetics from the Punjab Agricultural University and MBA in International Business from Baruch college (Zicklin School of Business, CUNY, New York). He was awarded a gold medal by the HP University in 1978 and topped the All India Agricultural Scientists' Recruitment Board . While at Baruch he was editorial assistant for the Policy Studies Journal - the principal outlet for the Public Policy Section of the American Political Science Association and for the Policy Studies Organization. He is an alumnus of the International House of New York
Anil has worked in leading companies in senior capacities including Vice President (Marketing), Business Head, Senior Vice President (Operations) and CEO. He has been involved in the seeds, nutrition and biopharmaceutical industries and has handled a wide portfolio of responsibilities in R&D, PR, IPR, HR, administration, business development, manufacturing and marketing. In 2008 he led the operationalization of the on-line marketing of a functional food product and facilitated trial runs for a 100% biodegradable plastic in collaboration with a French MNC. In 2010, he was administrative site head of a successful cGMP clinical batch manufacturing of an important biosimilar at a Malaysian CMO.
Anil served as Director at Association of Biotechnology Led Enterprises (ABLE), India – from 2012 to 2015 and as Senior Adviser till 2020. He represented ABLE in the Hookvac India Project - an Indo-EU multi stakeholder initiative aimed at manufacture of a low-cost Hookworm Vaccine in India.
Anil has worked to develop entrepreneurship in the Life sciences industry and co-authored a study on the Life Sciences ecosystem for a leading state that formed an important input in the State’s policy initiatives. He has advised several states on framing their biotech policies. He has coordinated several national and international events for the Indian and International biotechnology /life sciences companies/associations. Over the past decade through seminars, video conferencing and sessions at important National and International fora he has helped a useful exchange of views among the government and Industry on various issues like IPR, Biosimilars, Health initiatives, market access etc.
